Rotary Public Speaking

On Thursday 2nd June Ella A (Yr 5) and Arleia V (Yr 5) represented our school at the finals of the Lane Cove Rotary Public Speaking Competition. The girls had both worked hard preparing a speech, which they presented to Stage 3 before being selected as our school finalists.

Arleia has written some of her thoughts about the evening: “It was really nerve racking. There was a strict time limit and the people marking us said that if you go under you had a chance of not being marked! I went 5 seconds under so I was a bit nervous but when they called out the prize winners I was announced as the runner up. My jaw basically fell to the floor! I had come second.”

Congratulations Arleia on your wonderful achievement, and congratulations both girls for your hard work and enthusiasm for public speaking.
