The rain was pouring down and the wind was howling but that did not stop some of Mowbray’s dancers from venturing out into the wild weather to take part in the Extreme Dance Challenge Eisteddfod.
On Sunday 5th June the Jnr and Snr Performance Dance Ensembles took part in their first dance Eisteddfod for the year. With lots of excitement, energy and nerves the kids were ready to jump on stage and dance.
The Jnr Performance Ensemble were up first and did a fantastic job performing and for some their first time ever dancing in front of a crowd. This group went out there and had the audience smiling and bopping along.
The Snr Performance Ensemble were up next in the Snr Primary school section. This group were incredible and performed with such precision. The audience were clapping along and were mesmorised by these talented dancers and their circus themed dance. This group received third place, a huge achievement considering they were up against lots of schools including both public and private.
Many parents from other schools came up to tell me how amazing our students were. Both groups are looking forward to their next performance at the Sydney North Dance Festival for our Snr Ensemble and at the Sydney Eisteddfod for both of our performance ensembles.
A special thank you to our amazing mums and their incredible face painting skills. The students looked amazing!
